Marion Kerschbaumer graduated from the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich in Switzerland in 2003. After successfully defending her thesis about stiffness and strength of different implants in equine long bone fractures, she completed two internships: one in the equine clinic of the Vetsuisse Faculty Bern, Switzerland and the second in the small animal clinic of the Vetsuisse Faculty Zurich, Switzerland. She then worked in general small animal practice for one year, before returning 2007 to the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich to accomplish her residency in veterinary ophthalmology. After successfully taking her ECVO Certifying Examination in the year 2011, she lived for 3 years in Vienna, Austria, working as attending ophthalmologist in different small and equine veterinary clinics. In 2014, she returned to Switzerland and works as an ophthalmological specialist in the multi-disciplinary referral clinic "Ennetseeklinik für Kleintiere" in Hünenberg.
