The Ophthalmology department at Clinica Veterinaria Prealpi is pleased to offer a 1-year ophthalmology internship training programme under the guidance of an experienced board-certified specialist, Dr. Samuela Mazzucchelli (DVM, Dipl ECVO, MRCVS). Ideal candidate is a veterinarian with a strong interest in Ophthalmology. This programme is intended to allow veterinarians to expand their ophthalmic knowledge base and skills in preparation for future training in an ophthalmology residency.

The role is based within the Hospital for Small Animals at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. In this full-time training position, the resident will undertake clinical duties while working towards the ECVO Diploma and a doctorate of veterinary medicine degree.

The SeeVet Referrals of Roma, Italy, is offering a one-year clinical Ophthalmology Internship under the guidance of an experienced board-certified specialist, Dr. Nunzio D’Anna (Dipl ECVO, PhD). Ideal candidate is a veterinarian with a strong interest in Ophthalmology. The candidate will be part of the Ophthalmology team with an ECVO diplomate, an ECVO resident and support staff. A large focus will be on providing inpatient care and supporting the ophthalmology clinicians during the daily medical and surgical caseload.

The ECVO residency is meant to provide the opportunity for highly motivated individuals to become competent veterinary ophthalmologists with career options in clinical practice, research, teaching, or industry. During the residency, the resident shall become an integral part of our clinical service. His/her learning process will allow him/her to actively remain at the most actual state of knowledge for the speciality of veterinary ophthalmology.
The ophthalmology internship position is full-time (40-hour week); and the successful candidate will contribute to our weekdays and weekends on call and out of hours ophthalmology clinic rotations. The ideal applicant will have a minimum of two years of experience in general practice or completion of a rotating internship at a multi-disciplinary hospital.
The current ophthalmology team includes 3 ECVO diplomates, 2 residents and an ophthalmology intern. The ophthalmology case load is around 6000 cases for companion animals and 50-80 cases for horses per year.
