I received my degree in 1995 from Cambridge Veterinary School and spent 13 years in general practice. Always having had a keen interest in ophthalmology, I embarked on a Residency in Veterinary Ophthalmology at Animal Eye Care in Melbourne and was awarded the Australian Fellowship in 2014. Upon my return to the UK, I joined the Animal Health Trust and then moved to Eye Veterinary Clinic where I completed a second residency in order to attain the European Diploma in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2018. Since then, I have been an active ECVO Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology. I own and run Eye Veterinary Clinic with my colleagues Christine Heinrich and Karen Walsh and we are one of the last remaining independent veterinary referral clinics in the UK. We have a busy ECVO residency programme with several residents at a time and we also enjoy teaching Interns and visiting veterinary surgeons. I am an active Eye Panel examiner for the UK BVA/KCS/ISDS scheme but also have a keen interest in equine ophthalmology and see most of the equine caseload at our clinc. I currently also am an examiner for the Australian Fellowship examinations and an active member of the ECVO credentials committee.
